heres something we all cannot deny! technology today plays a major role in our daily life, with all the messaging, calling, socialising via social media etc. that we are incessantly involved in. It all requires the magic of this tool in order to proceed with.
was supposedly falling aslp today morning during 8am class. but was strucked awake by the topics presented by Dexter, Wenting and Vera/Viha. GOOD JOB GUYS!
and one that leaves a great impression on me was the topic of Viha and Vera ( the one with the jellybeans experiment). its called the “wisdom of crowds”, meaning that the average of an aggregated crowds could somehow produce a really accurate results, even more accurate than what a expert could have possibly guessed.
i feel that it is somewhat astounding as to how these random group of people could derive such a precise answer, given the kinds of probabilities and range of figures to guess from. Scary but interesting isnt?
cant wait for more lessons of New Communication Technologies. hahaha..
oh and do you know that popular sites like Google, Wikipedia and Amazon actually run their sites by making use of “wisdom of crowds”? How amazing!
Unfortunately, the problem with “wisdom of crowds” is that it requires a long period of time to complete and that those people doing the test get influenced easily by one another’s answer.
